About

The Bakhrushin Theatre Museum was founded on 29 October 1894 by the prominent Moscow industrialist and patron Alexey Alexandrovich Bakhrushin (1865-1929). Today the museum's collection numbers more than 1,5 million items. Among the items are sketches of costumes and scenery created by masters of scenography, photos and portraits, theatre costumes of great actors, programs and playbills, rare editions of theatrical art, decorative art objects, and many other items. The Albums page contains collections assembled by museum researchers since 2015. There are themes devoted to famous Russian theatre directors: Konstantin Stanislavsky, Vsevolod Meyerhold, Alexander Tairov and his Chamber Theatre, Yuri Lubimov and the Taganka Theatre. In 2021, we started to publish albums devoted to modern directors. You can find themes dedicated to Kirill Serebrennikov, Ivan Vyrypaev, Dmitriy Brusnikin and Marina Brusnikina, Roman Viktyuk and Sergey Zhenovach.
