Stage director Sergey Zhenovach
Annotation
Sergey Zhenovach was born on 15 May 1957. In 1979, he finished Krasnodar State Institute of Culture and started to study drama directing at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts. After graduating, he became a theatre educator in GITIS. An important phase of his career was his work in the Moscow Drama Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya (1991–1998). In our collection, one can find King Lear, a trilogy based on The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky et al. In 2005, Sergey Zhenovach and his graduates set up a theatre. It was his most cherished project. He and his like-minded colleagues designed a homely space to build a deeper connection with the audience. There's a bookcase where a visitor could borrow a book and a long table at which spectators could communicate. Treats also help to create the atmosphere. For instance, before The Three Sisters, you could enjoy pies and admire lilacs. Here you can find different museum items: sketches of costumes, posters, programs, photos. If you classify items by theatres, you could trace the development of Sergey Zhenovach’s style, from the early productions in the Theatre on Malay Bronnaya to the modern productions at the Theatre Art Studio.
