Vera Bakhrushina (née Nosova) was the wife of Alexey Bakhrushin, founder of the State Theatre Museum, and played a pivotal role in establishing and preserving the collection. Born on March 23, 1875, into the merchant-industrialist Nosov family, Vera was the fourth of six daughters. From childhood, she managed the household and helped raise her younger sisters following their mother's early death. On April 19, 1895, she married Alexey Bakhrushin. Vera took charge of systematizing her husband's theatre collection: she classified and bound newspaper clippings, posters, and programmes, transforming scattered materials into an organised archive. It was largely thanks to her efforts that the collection acquired scholarly value and museum structure. After Alexey Bakhrushin's death in 1929, it was due to Vera Bakhrushina's dedication that the museum was preserved through years of social upheaval. The online collection of the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum features photographs of Vera Bakhrushina, her personal correspondence, and portraits — including the most renowned one, painted by Konstantin Makovsky.
