The exhibition “Ballet Stars” at the Kaliningrad Museum of Fine Arts is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious ballet schools in the world. It represents costumes, sketches, paintings, sculpture, photography and video materials from the Bakhrushin Museum collection.
Visitors can trace the ballet school history and explore outstanding dancers of the ballet world: Alexander Gorsky, Yury Grigorovich, Mikhail Lavrovsky. A separate hall is dedicated to one of the school’s brightest graduates Maya Plisetskaya. The exhibition ends with the “Hall of Fame”, which represents items and video materials related to the Bolshoi Theatre.
In our online collection visitors can view some of the exhibits, including Maya Plisetskaya’s stage dresses made by Pierre Cardin, sculptural portrait of Vaslav Nijinsky from “The Spirit of the Rose”, sketches of costumes and scenery by Konstantin Korovin, photographs of ballet dancers, Bolshoi Theatre posters and other remarkable items.
