Biography
Vadim Ryndin was born in Moscow. From 1918 to 1922 he studied in Voronezh Art and Technical Studios (class of S. Romanovich and N. Maximov) and from 1922 to 1924 in Vkhutemas (Higher Art and Technical Studios). Alsohe was a member of associations "Makovets", "Community of Young Artists", "Chetyre iskusstva" ("Four Arts"), "Association of Artists of the Revolution". Since 1924 Ryndin participated in exhibitions. His career in theatre started in Voronezh where Vadin Ryndin worked as decorator’s assistant. He came to Tairov’s Chamber Theatre in 1925 and worked with Stebergs brothers. In 1927 Ryndin designed his first self-depended production "Conspiracy of equals" (M. Levidov). From 1931 to 1934 Ryndin work as the chief artist of the Theatre. In all, he came up with design for thirteen performances. During 1930s Ryndin cooperated with Vakhtangov Theatre, The Moscow Art Theatre, Mayakovsky Theatre, The Moscow Academic Theatre of Satire, Bolsoi Theatre, Maly Theatre and others. Ryndin was awarded the highest state awards and titles. Since 1965 he taught in Institute named after V. Surikov.
