Lyubatovich Tatyana. 1859-1932

Biography:

Tatyana Lyubatovich was a Russian opera singer and vocal teacher. Born in the Saransk district of Penza Governorate, she graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1883, where she studied singing under Maria Miloradovich. She later continued her vocal training in Italy and Paris. In 1883, Lyubatovich made her operatic debut in Kharkov as Siebel in Charles Gounod's "Faust". She performed with private opera companies across Russia, including those in Odessa, Kyiv, Tiflis (now Tbilisi), and St. Petersburg. An important part of her career was her association with Savva Mamontov's Private Russian Opera in Moscow. Her repertoire included the title role in Georges Bizet's "Carmen" and Dalila in Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns' "Samson and Delilah". Lyubatovich also toured internationally, performing in Great Britain, Italy, Spain, and France. In 1910, she retired from the stage and devoted herself to teaching. The collection of the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum includes photographs of Tatyana Spiridonovna Lyubatovich.
