Boris Ferdinandov was born in Moscow. He studied in the Moscow Real School of I. Fidler and in Petrov’s Agricultural Academy. Also he was an auditor of philosophic and linguistic courses in Moscow University. Simultaneously he was studying at Adashev’s drama courses and attended courses in Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
From 1911 to 1913 Ferdinandov was working as an actor in Moscow Art Theatre, “Nash Theatre” (“Our Theatre”) in Saint-Petersburg and as a decorator in Theatre of Musical Drama.
In 1914 he joined the troupe of Moscow Chamber Theatre, but because of mobilization he started to work just in 1917. That year he designed productions “King Harlequin” (written by R. Lothar) and “The Toy Box” (written by Debussy), and in 1919 – “Adrienne Lecouvreur” (written by Skiba and Leguve).
In 1918 Ferdinandov was a director in Kaluga Drama Theatre, but later came back to Chamber Theatre.
In 1921-1923 he opened “Experimental-heroic Theatre” in collaboration with V. Shershenevich.
After 1923 Ferdinandov came back to the Chamber Theater, but he worked just as an actor and later left it for cinema.
