Aleksandr Shirvindt was a Soviet and Russian stage and film actor, educator, screenwriter and voice actor, as well as a People's Artist of the RSFSR (1989).
In 1956 Shirvindt graduated from Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute. He worked at the Lenin’s Komsomol Moscow Theatre and the Drama Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya. In 1970 at the invitation of the artistic director Valentin Pluchek, he moved to the Moscow Satire Theatre. In 2000 he became the artistic director of the Moscow Satire Theatre.
