Mikhail Gladkov was a Soviet actor, director, and teacher. He was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1974) and Honored Artist of the Yakut ASSR. In 1931, he worked as an actor at the Maly Theatre Studio under the direction of Fyodor Kaverin. From 1935 to 1948, he served at the Maly Theatre. In the mid-1940s, he was imprisoned in Norillag, where he led an amateur camp theatre troupe. From 1957 to 1967, he worked as a director at the Maly Theatre. He also taught at the Shchepkin Higher Theatre School in Moscow, where he was a professor and artistic director of the Yakut studio programs. The Bakhrushin Theatre Museum collection holds materials related to Mikhail Gladkov’s work as a stage director.
