Mikhail Sadovsky was a Russian stage actor, Honored Artist of the Imperial Theatres, and a prominent representative of the renowned Sadovsky acting dynasty. Born in 1847 in Moscow into the family of Maly Theatre actor Prov Sadovsky, he made his stage debut at the Maly Theatre in 1869. In 1870, he was officially accepted into its permanent troupe. Mikhail Sadovsky brilliantly interpreted Alexander Ostrovsky's dramaturgy, performing over 60 roles in his plays. Among his most significant stage performances were Podkhalyuzin in "It's a Family Affair - We'll Settle It Ourselves", Karandyshev in "Without a Dowry", Murzavetsky in "Wolves and Sheep", and Konstantin Karkunov in "The Heart Is Not a Stone".
